Next Wave: Honeydrum

Honeydrum are a New Bro'nswick based lo-fi retro pop group consisting of Joseph Black (voice & guitar), Raymond “Ray” Schwab (guitar & keys), Erik ‘Dougal’ Sandberg (bass guitar)and Marc ‘Klein-Goldblatt’ Esterow (drums & magic act). They deliver joyfull sounds bursting with coconut and ananas smells diffusing behind a dimmed tv screen of forbidden nooks and alleys, that could have existed in plans of Cpt. Hook for his fellow mallrats in the destiny mall called Sunrisepolis. Their brand new vinyl Stranger Calls 7'' & 'Do U Party?' EP was released on May 9th as a limited edition on opaque pink vinyl with CD. All songs written, produced & recorded by Honeydrum.

Next Wave: Part Time

Part Time is a project of San Francisco based musician David Speck. His music can be described as bedroom pop with a major influences from the musical styles of the 80's decade, lo-fi electronic beats and and soft drum machines suitable for nightclubbing as well as for a beach party. In the recent years, David has released two studio albums and he is back with a new single "Visions of the Future" released earlier this year for the Loglady records. Part Time is currently touring with Craft Spells and The Drums.

Washed Out- Within or Without

Washed Out alias Ernest Greene has released his first full-length album 'Within and Without' on July 12th. Greene recorded 'Within and Without' with Ben Allen, who, among a great many other things, co-produced Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavillion, Gnarls Barkley’s St. Elsewhere and Deerhunter’s Halcyon Digest. In 2009 Washed Out released two critically-acclaimed EPs; 'Life of Leisure (Mexican Summer)' and High Times (Mirror Universe Tapes). For more information check out the link.

Dirty Beaches- Badlands

'Badlands' is the new album by Dirty Beaches which was released on March 29, 2011 on Zoo Music. The man behind Dirty Beaches is Alex Zhang Hungtai, solo performer and musician born in Taiwan, Hungtai who has made Canada his home. In an interview for Pichfork he said that the influences for 'Badlands' came from three David Lynch movies: Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, and Lost Highway. The concept of the music is Suicide's minimal synth-punk with influences of rockabilly and lo-fi.

Next Wave: John Maus

John Maus is American avant-garde musician and composer. Although first drawn to our attention as a core member of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and keyboard player with Animal Collective's Panda Bear, Maus has proved himself to be an extraordinary musician with a distinctive sound in his own right. He released two album Songs in 2006 and Love is Real in 2007 through ‘Upset! The Rhythm. His music is melancholic, electro driven baroque pop with weird synthesizer lines and drum machine clicks. His voice reminds of Ian Curtis and Nick Cave.

Next Wave: Geneva Jacuzzi

Geneva Garvin (aka Geneva Jacuzzi) is a songwriter, visual and recording artist from Los Angeles. From 2004 to 2007 she fronted the tongue-in-cheek goth band Bubonic Plague. Her music has used styles that range from darkwave, goth, psychedelic and breakbeat and is similar to the artists which were featured on the compilation Italian's Do It Better.

of Montreal- Sleketal Lamping

'Skeletal Lamping' is the title of the ninth studio album by Athens, Georgia-based band Of Montreal. The album is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2008. Lats track of the album has previosly been released as a single on September 9, 2008. It's entitled "Id Engager". The title 'Skeletal Lamping' is the name of a rather dreadful hunting technique where, hunters go into the forest at night, flood an area in light, then shoot, or capture, the animals as they panic and run from their hiding places.

TV on The Radio- Dear Science

'Dear Science', is the third studio album from New York's group TV on the Radio. It is due to be released on September 22, 2008 in most countries. The album will be released on Interscope Records, with 4AD taking the worldwide distribution. The album has been produced by David Andrew Sitek.
On August 19 the track "Golden Age" became available for streaming on the band's official website.

Panda Bear- Person Pitch

Person Pitch is the third solo album released by Animal Collective member Panda Bear (aka Noah Lennox), released on March 20, 2007. Five of the seven tracks on the album were released prior to the album, some of them with different mixing and/or lengths. "I'm Not" and "Comfy in Nautica" were released together as a double A-side single in 2005. "Take Pills" will be released as a 7" single on June 19, 2007, the same day that Person Pitch is being released on vinyl.
